We will form a network of educational and scientific institutions between Nordic biosphere reserves. Also we will define topics that could be a common interest for future adult education platform for sustainable develpoment - a summer/winter universities (with practical courses) which combine scientific research and practical skills. The network collects the data, analyses existing knowledge and exchange experiences in relation to a topic, issue or a challenge shared by all the involved parties. The target groups of the Project are representatives of educational and scientific institutions and local communities. The formed Nnetwork will continue the work to compile a bigger and longer co-project for adult education in all involved countries.
Launched in 1971, UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB) is an Intergovernmental Scientific Programme that aims to establish a scientific basis for the improvement of relationships between people and their environments. MAB combines the natural and social sciences, economics and education to improve human livelihoods and the equitable sharing of benefits, and to safeguard natural and managed ecosystems, thus promoting innovative approaches to economic development that are socially and culturally appropriate, and environmentally sustainable.
